The Slate Valley Trails organization manages more than 60 miles of biking and hiking trails accessed from 8 different trailheads.

Hitting the Trails
- Each trail network managed by Slate Valley Trails has its own unique guidelines, and may have different land ownership (mostly privately owned).
- Using these trails is a privilege – please respect our landowners and guidelines.
- Please review and respect trailhead parking guidelines. There is no overnight parking at our trailheads.
- Use trails at own risk!
- Cell service on trails is very spotty.
- There is complementary, seasonal public Wi-Fi at the Fairgrounds trailhead.
Deane Osborne Preserve
A 2.5 mile hike to a scenic vista from a trailhead on Endless Brook Road in Poultney.
Veteran’s Trails
Veteran's Trails are adjacent to the Poultney Elementary School with access from the D&H Rail Trail
Poultney River Loop
The Poultney River Loop is a 3.3 mile, flat, natural surface multi-use trail around downtown Poultney.
