The VMBA Board of Directors has one (1) open seat to fill for a three-year term starting on April 1, 2025. Current board members Quinn Keating and Tara Mirakian are seeking re-election for a second term. In line with VMBA’s Bylaws, the Board has nominated a slate of candidates for members to review and vote on ahead of the VMBA Annual Meeting on March 27th.
We’re thrilled to share that one of our own Slate Valley Trails (SVT) members and board directors, Steve Letendre, is a candidate for the open seat! We wholeheartedly support Steve’s candidacy and would love to see him represent SVT on the VMBA board. Steve has been instrumental in SVT’s growth and development, and his unwavering dedication to our mission makes him an excellent advocate for our community.
Here’s a message from Steve:
“Dear Slate Valley Trails Members,
I’m reaching out to ask for your support in the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA) Board of Directors election. As a longtime Vermont resident, passionate mountain biker, and dedicated advocate for outdoor recreation, I would be honored to represent our region on the VMBA Board.
For over five years, I’ve proudly served on the Slate Valley Trails Board, working to expand and maintain our incredible multi-use trail network. I believe in the power of outdoor recreation to strengthen communities, support local economies, and provide opportunities for riders of all levels. If elected, I’ll work to ensure that the voices of riders in the middle and southern parts of Vermont are heard and that VMBA continues to support trail access, sustainability, and growth.
Your vote can make a difference! Please be sure to cast your ballot by 7 PM on March 26th to help me bring our shared passion for mountain biking to the statewide level.
Thank you for your support—I look forward to seeing you on the trails!
Best,
Steve Letendre
Slate Valley Trails Treasurer”
