The Deane Osborne Preserve is an 85-acre conserved property on the east side of Lake St. Catherine with foot-only access to stunning views from St. Catherine Mountain of Lake St. Catherine and beyond into the Adirondacks.
From the parking, follow signs and SVT blazes on the West side of the parking lot to the brook and you will cross a beautiful bridge constructed by the landowner, William Osborne.
Look for an informational kiosk ahead on the left at the edge of the mowed paths in the meadow.
Green Trail (1.25 miles each way) is an out-an-back to an overlook. This trail has several switchbacks leading up from the meadow into the forest. It goes past a peaceful brook, as it climbs to the summit. Give yourself at least 45 minutes to hike it one way.
