Join Us for our Winter Hiking Series in 2025! 
Ready to explore the beauty of winter with us? Our all-star SVT volunteers are leading a series of fun, guided hikes/walks to showcase different SVT trailheads. It’s the perfect chance to discover our trails, make new friends, and enjoy the comfort of hiking in a group! 
Meeting location will change each week. All of the hikes are on Saturdays and start at 10am. Please see description of hikes below for dates:
Hike Schedule (10 AM start time):
Jan 25: Poultney River Loop – Meet at the Poultney Coworking Loft (188 Main Street, Poultney, VT). 3 miles-very beginner friendly/flat loop. More of a winter walk rather than a hike. Hot chocolate served at the Poultney coworking loft after the walk.
Feb 1: Endless Brook Trailhead – (869 Endless Brook Road, Poultney, VT). 4 miles- moderate to difficult with some elevation to climb.
Feb 8: Fairgrounds Trailhead – (131 Town Farm Road, Poultney, VT). 3 miles- moderate to difficult with some elevation to climb.
Feb 15: Poultney River Loop – (212 Main Street, Poultney, VT). 3 miles- Easy, flat- more of a walk rather than a hike.
Mar 1: Fairgrounds Trailhead – (131 Town Farm Road, Poultney, VT). 5 miles- moderate to difficult with some elevation to climb.
Mar 22 (Poultney Maple Fest): Howe Hill – Meet at the church parking lot, East Poultney (1500 East Main Street, Poultney, VT). 2 miles- difficult but short with steep sections.
What to expect: Each hike/walk will vary in length and difficulty. Inclement weather (downpour, thunder, blizzard) will cancel. A post will be made an hour before each hike with cancellation notification.
Wear/bring: Footwear suitable for hiking, snowshoes or microspikes (depending on ground conditions), warm layers, water and snacks.
